If you would ask me about my favourite comic book of all time I would tell you right away it is Kingdom Come.
Kingdom Come was a four-issue comic book limited series published by DC Comics in 1996. It was written by Mark Waid and illustrated by Alex Ross. The four books tell the story of alternate future of the DC Universe where a new generation of superheroes has emerged. But these new heroes are increasingly violent and amoral, causing concern among the older heroes who have retired from active duty. The story is told through the eyes of a retired Superman who returns to action after years of self-imposed exile. Superman choose to resign when the public preferred heroes who actually kill the villains.
